Who Is A Loan Chef?

As a vetted and approved Loan Chef chef, you are given the exclusive opportunity to monetize your love of cooking—no professional culinary experience is required!

You prepare meals for working professionals and parents. Some simply don’t have the time to prepare nutritious meals, some have the time but aren’t skilled in the kitchen.

As their chef, you give them the gift of quality time and the peace of mind that they have nutritious and delicious meals for their family. It’s a win/win situation!

How It Works?

Apply

Apply directly to be considered as a Loan Chef chef. Yes, we’re going to taste your cuisine! No need for gourmet, just simple, healthy, and delicious meals.

Create Your Chef Profile

Once approved, you create a chef profile, sharing the cuisine you enjoy preparing, the dietary restrictions you can accommodate, and the schedule you’re available to cook.

Engage

Most clients will message you through the Loan Chef platform before they book to confirm menu preferences and dietary restrictions.

Cook

Once you’re booked, you go to the client’s home and prepare the meals they’ve booked you for. Each shift is at least 3 hours long, with an average of 4 hours per shift.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I be a Loan Chef chef if I don’t have any professional culinary experience?

Yes! Most of our chefs are everyday people with a genuine passion for cooking. Some are aspiring chefs looking to get more practice in the kitchen.

We understand that you might be nervous if you’ve only ever cooked for friends and family. Not to worry, as the Loan Chef team is here for you. Once you’re accepted as one of our chefs, we provide training, best practices, feedback, and ongoing support to boost your confidence.

After you complete 10 cooking assignments as a Loan Chef chef, you receive a certificate of excellence!

What kind of meals will I be preparing?

Our clients aren’t looking for gourmet meals. They want meals that are simple but flavourful and nutritious. Some families and working professionals will only have you prepare their dinners, others will have you prepare any combination of breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. Desserts too if you bake.

Do I have to grocery shop for my clients?

Maybe. Most of our clients do their grocery shopping ahead of time. You arrive to a clean and sanitized kitchen, and all you must do is cook. You are paid for your time if you must grocery shop, and you are reimbursed upon arrival.

What language do I need to speak?

Many of your clients are bilingual or multilingual, speaking any mix of languages native to the Benelux area. However, many of our clients are international clients and they only speak English, so you also need to speak basic English. Enough to engage in light conversation and to ensure you can comprehend food preferences, dietary restrictions, and nutritional needs.

How often will I cook for my clients?

This depends on what they book. Some clients will book you to cook for 3 to 4 hours several days per week. Others will book you once or twice a week. Some will book Loan Chefs as needed and alternate between several of our everyday chefs.

You’ll cook dinner or meals for up to 5 days. The first 3 days of meals will be fresh and days 4 and 5 will be frozen. Some recipes freeze and defrost better than others, so you may need to add some freezer-friendly meals to what you currently cook.
